Hong Kong Shark Foundation was in Causeway bay on 1 July having a petition booth, addressing the government to legislate a ban on the sale and possession of shark fin in Hong Kong. It was a great success and we’ve collected more than 140 petitions. Many thanks to Hong Kongers for standing up for sharks.
With the implementation of CITES Appendix 2 fast approaching (this means protection for 5 more shark species and is a HUGE step forwards) HKSF was delighted to be invited to speak at RHKYC. HKSF gave a talk at a meeting of the Rotary Club of Hong Kong on 3rd June to spread the message of anti-shark-finning. It was a great success as the Rotary Club promised that shark fin soup will not be served at their meetings.
HKSF visited and gave a talk at the American International School on the 29thof May. Students learned about the importance of shark conservation and ways to protect sharks. We are very glad to have 3 students from AIS joining HKSF as volunteers!

Sarah Lo’s Family These two shark heroes are brother and sister who come from the Lo family. They care and concern about the extinction of sharks.
