Hats off to the creative and compassionate group of ESF Sha Tin College secondary students who formed a conservation team called THE ARK to raise awareness about the global issue of climate change in the local context of Hong Kong. 👏❤️🦈
To achieve their goal THE ARK partnered up with NGOs like Hong Kong Shark Foundation 香港護鯊會, Redress, and Plastic Free Seas to interview them to learn more about the important work they do. These interviews are then used to create informative podcast series to educate people on how they can help to lessen the impact of the climate crisis in Hong Kong. 💪💪
This podcast series will soon be posted on social media platforms and will be available on Spotify!
In addition to this podcast series, THE ARK also chose to achieve their goal by creating and selling their own sustainable fashion brand with their very own shark-themed designs! With cloth kindly donated by Redress, the students only used natural dyes to create tie-dye t-shirts which will be sold at school on the 28th of November, 2022!
This amazing team is made up of 5 members: Jasmin Sin – Head of Operations, Paige Li – Head of Communications, Carmen Auyeung – Head of Design, Ethan Chan and Kazu Honda – Head of Finance. Well done ARK leaders!! 💪💪👏👏
And as a special bonus, ALL profits from this initiative will go to HKSF to help raise money for their Shark Ambassador education program.
Thank you to all THE ARK students! Well done 👏👏👏
