CONGRATS to the Shark Ambassadors at ESF West Island School who for #WorldOceanWeek2022 June 1-8 hosted “Shark Week” and SOLD OUT all their homemade merchandise to raise awareness about the plight of sharks and #SDG14 #LifeBelowWater! Combined with the bracelet, candy and “dress casual” day the students raised HKD 19,542!!!! Woot woot! Well done Ambassadors!

To support this year’s Shark Week, compassionate IB CAS Shark Ambassador Club students Selina Chiang, Rosie Johnson-Hill, Emma Mugford, Carina Ngan and other student volunteers handmade bracelets and sold candy to fundraise and raise awareness for HKSF. The students were encouraged by the overall student enthusiasm and eagerness to contribute by buying bracelets/candy plus also kindly donating even more than the cost to support the cause!
CAS Shark Ambassador student leader Carina said, “It is really rewarding seeing so many students supporting and wearing our bracelets around school. I am touched by the students’ generosity and sensibleness. After this experience, I realise the influence every individual has on making a change in the society. All we need is a small step to embark on this journey of doing good deeds. I’m really glad our months of planning turned out to be such a success!” Too right Carina! Everyone can make a difference

Another student Rosie expressed “hope that the Shark Week donations to HKSF can make a difference. All the students are passionate about the cause and we hope to carry on this tradition and continue supporting HKSF.”
HUGE THANK YOU to ALL the WIS students and teachers, especially the amazing Emma Goodwin, who participated and supported Shark Week and this important charity and cause to save sharks. Keep up the great work and we’re looking forward to another successful “Shark Week” in 2023!
