Grateful to Zoom connect with 120 Y6 (10 y o) Hong Kong Shark Foundation “Shark 🦈Ambassadors” from Clearwater Bay Primary English Schools Foundation yesterday!
We had a lively discussion about sharks 🦈 and talked the importance of sharks to maintain our delicate marine 🌊ecosystem 🌍and how over 100 million sharks are killed every year for everything from fish and chips to shark fin soup. 😓
We also discussed solutions to the global shark crisis problem and got the kids involved in a bit of critical thinking to brainstorm solutions like starting saying no the shark fin soup campaigns in their school, signing a petition, creating awareness through art and making videos to educate people, etc. Very impressed by the compassion and energy of these students in Hong Kong. 👏🏻
Many thanks to teacher Anisha for organising the talk and just basically making it happen in these very challenging times. Great job Anisha and all the teachers! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
If you’re interested in having your school participate in a zoom shark conservation talk, please reach out to me directly at andrea@hksharkfoundation.org and let’s get your school on board the shark 🦈 conservation wave 🌊! 💪💪
